Document Retention Ban
Colleges are strictly prohibited from retaining your original marksheets, degrees, or birth certificates under any circumstances, even if fees are pending.
100% Fee Refund Policy
If you withdraw your admission before the stipulated deadline, colleges must refund 100% of your fees (minus a maximum ₹1,000 processing fee). They cannot withhold seat-booking amounts.
Forced Hostel Bundling Illegal
Making hostel accommodation mandatory for local/day scholars to extract extra fees is an unfair practice. You cannot be forced to pay for services you do not consume.
Capitation Fee Prohibition
Demanding donations or capitation fees beyond the state-approved fee structure is a criminal offense. All fees must be receipted and transparent.
Fake Approvals & Affiliation
Institutions claiming false UGC/AICTE approvals or offering unrecognised "diplomas" masked as degrees are liable for immediate closure and full fee refunds.
Mid-Year Transfer Rights
If you wish to leave the college mid-course, the institution cannot demand the remaining 3 or 4 years of tuition fees to release your transfer certificate (TC).
