Low-Cost Air Quality Monitoring Using IoT Sensors
Project: BreatheEasy
Abstract
This paper presents a low-cost, solar-powered air quality monitoring node built around the ESP32 and a set of MEMS gas sensors. We describe the calibration pipeline, a lightweight MQTT data path, and a city-scale dashboard. Field trials across three localities show an accuracy within 8% of reference-grade monitors at under 5% of the cost.
